A Short History of Akin Euba

PROFESSOR OLATUNJI AKIN EUBA Akin Euba as popularly known was born in Lagos in the year 1935. He studied composition at the Trinity College of Music London, United Kingdom. He received B.A and M.A. degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles. He holds a Ph. D. in ethnomusic ology from the University of Ghana, Logon. He is known as a Nigerian composer, Musicologist, Pianist and an Author. He passed on this morning (15/04/2020) at the age 85. Some of his works are: 1. Olurounbi (Symphonic study for orchestral) 2. Chaka (opera) 3. Ice Cube (string orchestra) 4. Waker Duru (studies in African Pianism 1-3, piano) 5. Impression from an Akwete cloth (piano) 6. Six Yoruba folk songs, arranged for voice and piano.
