In our previous lesson we learnt how to find note C and middle C. Here we'll learn a complete scale of C Major on a keyboard. A complete scale of C major is as follows: C D E F G A B C d  r m f  s  l  t  d New letters here are A B C (l t d) and they are not difficult to find because they are the next three notes from note G to the next C (white keys). Since there are 5 fingers on each hand, then some of the fingers would be repeated to play a whole scale which consist of 8 notes. BECOME YOUR CHURCH KEYBOARDIST IN SEVEN DAYS (Lesson 1) Introduction- For this lesson to be successful you'll need a working keyboard placed in front of you. Put on the keyboard and minimize the volume. Facing the keyboard, you'll notice it consist of white and black keys. The white keys were arranged serially while the black keys were arranged in groups of 2 and 3. Try to press the keyboard keys (white and black) from your left hand side to your right hand side. You'll realise that, the sound from the left are tick and becomes light as you play forward to your right hand side. That means keyboard sounds were arranged from left hand side to the right. Identification of note C and middle C is the next.  Note C is the first white key before a two set of black keys. 'Before' means, the white key on the left side of two sets of black keys. HOW TO SING PRAISE AND WORSHIP

How to sing praise and worship 1. Start by making the congregation stand. It's a sign of respect and surrender to God. 2. Share a short exaltation or scriptural verse. Maximum of 2mins. You are not there to preach. 3. Sing with your eyes opened. It helps you monitor the service especially the congregation and time. 4. Sing popular or congregational songs. You are there to lead and not to do a solo. 5. Avoid changing songs quickly. Its not about changing of songs. 6. Sing every song for at least 3mins before u change to another 7. Be sensitive to the spirit. (Rom. 8:14) 8. Make room for the congregation to express their worship also. 8. Focus and be active on stage as your involvement will have a great impact on the congregation. 9. Allow for a minute silence during the worship session. MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS Musical instruments are materials, objects or any element used in accompanying or presenting music. Musical instruments are generally classified into three groups namely; 1. Western Instruments  They are instruments which are not made in Africa. The instruments in this group have foreign names most of which are English. Example: Trumpet, Saxophone, Violin, Guitar, Drumset/ Jazzset, Recorder, Flute, (keyboard) Organ etc  2. African Traditional Musical Instruments These are local instruments made and commonly used in Africa for various traditional events. They have names that can be traced to an African language like; Gangan, Bata, Bembe, Ipe, Molo, Agidigbo, Thumb Piano, Fere, Une, Zither, Kakaaki, Sekere, Agogo etc 3. Human Body (clap, voice, fingers snap etc.)
TYPES OF MUSIC 1. Traditional Music Traditional music is the music of a group of people living in a particular environment. It can be performed with or without accompaniment and it is associated with traditional and ritual ceremonies. This type of music is passed down from one generation to another orally as it is not scored nor properly documented.  This music can be poetic, historical and satirical and all these types of music are set fit to different types of occasions, ceremonies and festivals.  2. Sacred Music These are the types of music used for religious purposes. In Nigeria for instance the two fore most religions (Christianity and Islam) each has their worship centers. The kind of music used for various activities such as: worship, praising God or prayers at this various worship centers (church or mosque) is called the sacred music. 3.
