TEN IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC
1. The main importance and usefulness of music is entertainment. It is an integral part of any event as it takes care of the soft part of that event.
2. Music can be used to express one’s mind. A musician makes use of the song text to speak out his/her innermost intent. It affords the musician an opportunity to reach a large number of people.
3. Music helps to promote and preserve language. It does this with the language used in song text, the costumes used on stage, the kind of instrument, the theme of the music performance and so on.
 4. It is used in religion to worship and praise God/gods. The Christian, Islam and traditionalist consider music important in their service and worship.
5. Music serves as a career which could be taken up at any higher institution of learning. A music graduate can be called musicologist among other names.
6. Music serves as a means to earn a living. There are multiple job opportunities in music ranging from instrumentalist, classical vocalist, musician, and studio engineer to music technologist etc.
7. Music can be used to lull a baby.
8. It can be used to teach moral and correct social ills.
9. Music is used in ritual and other traditional rites.
10. Music is used for sport.
